Buskers on the Block
Tyler Plaza at Tyler and Water Street. Port Townsend’s Main Street organization brings you local musicians who bring music and fun to our downtown area in free casual small-scale performances from 2-3 PM most Thursdays beginning April 2022.
- April 7 Jack Dwyer, is a multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter, and teacher based in the Pacific Northwest. Featuring classic and traditional American repertoire as well as original music.
- April 14 Jonathan Doyle, Saxophonist, clarinetist, jug blower, bass saxophonist, composer, and arranger
- April 21 Corinne Adams, Celtic fiddle
- April 28 Phina Pipia is a classically trained vocalist and multi-instrumentalist. Her work is characterized by rich vocals, nontraditional instrumentation and inventive lyrics that cut straight to the heart.

Port Townsend Victorian Festival
This heritage event was founded in 1996 to celebrate the history and lifestyle of early settlers in Port Townsend, runs April 29, 2022 through May 1, 2022 from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Uptown Walking Tours
Uptown Walking tours are new this year! Local guides will regale walkers with tales of the lives of Uptown citizens and their abodes. The schedule includes a one-time exclusive Walking Tour, limited to 16 people and featuring an invitation to step into the iconic Anne Starrett House. Tour guides have planned a round-trip walking journey from the Courthouse and past Uptown homes to the Starrett House, where homeowners will guide them through the elegant parlors of this historic home. The McCurdy House offers another opportunity to enter a historic home, with entry to the parlor and library as part of the tour. Visitors will hear the history of this heritage home and stories of the owners’ experience restoring a Victorian house.
Northwest Maritime Center
New and open to all tours of the world-renowned Northwest Maritime Center launching in April and free to all. 431 Water Street, Port Townsend . 5:00-6:00 pm. There is no better place to learn from the Sea. Family-friendly, on-the-water activities are planned for this summer. interested in putting on your dancing shoes? Stop by Manresa Castle on March 4, 2022 for March Masquerade! It’s an evening of dance and drinks featuring premiere Bollywood DJ Kazan. Show up in costume and join the fun!
Northwind Art presents The Graphic Memoir with Steve Brodner, March 4-6, 2022. From Northwind Art: ‘Award-winning graphic artist and journalist Steve Brodner introduces you to the art of the graphic memoir genre. Graphic memoirs are sequential illustrations or art with accompanying text that tells an autobiographical or semi-autobiographical story.
Step-by-step, you’ll create a visual narrative based on your own experience. Discover the effectiveness of this exciting form for communicating the full range of human experience and how much easier and fun than you might have imagined. Steve guides you in writing, pacing and sketching including the use of finishing techniques such as pen and ink, paint, digital or other media. All levels welcome.’
She Tells Sea Tales presented by the Northwest Maritime Center will be happening virtually on March 5, 2022. From the NWMC: ‘Hilarious and heartbreaking, raw and brutally honest—She Tells Sea Tales offers an intimate glimpse into the lives of women in the maritime industry. Experience an evening of real sea stories told by the women mariners who have lived them in this beloved sell-out event that connects women from across all waters. She Tells Sea Tales will be held virtually.’
The Jefferson County Museum of Art & History is re-opening after a period of restoration to an exiting exhibit happening in March! From the Museum: ‘Wood is an exhibition featuring the work of six artists with portraits by Jeremy Johnson and historic hand tools form the JCHS collection. Our tentative re-opening date for the Jefferson Museum of Art & History is Thursday, March 10, 2022. Keep an eye on the Museum’s website for their latest updates on operating hours and details about a special April open house celebrating new exhibits and restored doors.’
Another exciting option for enjoying Port Townsend is utilizing Jefferson Transit’s new Kingston Express Shuttle Program. The shuttle is free through March 31, 2022, and only $8 after. The transit service is equipped with a bike rack and only has four stops, the Kingston Ferry Terminal, the Gateway Visitor Center, Four Corner Park and Ride and Haines Place Park and Ride in Port Townsend! Use this shuttle as a jumping off point for cycling in and around Port Townsend!

February Fun in PT

For any movie goers interested in a unique viewing experience, consider taking in a film at the Rose Theatre. The Rose is a beautiful location that lives up to its roots as a Vaudeville Theatre. Enjoy a film at the Rose, or head upstairs to the Starlight Room and relax on couches in a more intimate viewing setting.

The Port Townsend Chamber Music series presented by Centrum is returning for in person performances at the Joseph F. Wheeler Theater at Fort Worden State Park. The Merz Trio will be performing on February 20. From Centrum:
“Hailed as ‘artists in the deepest sense of the word’ and lauded for their ‘stunning virtuosity,’ Merz Trio won the prestigious 2021 Naumberg competition, as well as at the Concert Artists Guild, Fischoff, and Chesapeake Competitions.
