Former USN and US Coast Guard Tug Comanche will be moored at the Northwest Maritime Center dock from July 20-29, 2012.
Comanche will be open to the public to visit on a donation basis from 10am to approximately sunset Saturday to Saturday. In addition, on Saturday July 28 at noon there will be live jazz on board courtesy of the Jeriatric Jazz Collective.

There are some interesting activities aboard, like the opportunity to observe the starting of one of the big V-12 engines and learn about its history. On the bridge they have the all brass and copper engine room telegraphic equipment from the WW-II era Meredith Victory, a ship that served in the Korean War and has the world record for number of people saved in one trip: 14,000 people. This hardware  is the only physical remnant left of the ship.
After its stay in Port Townsend, the tug is travelling to Bremerton and will accept interested passengers to join the voyage.
