An uproarious, backstage comedy on the Key City Public Theatre stage.
Imagine attending the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and getting a glimpse of every play in the entire season in one night—as well as much of the backstage drama!

That’s the promise of “A Life in the Theatre,” an uproarious backstage comedy running June 26-July 13, 2014 at Key City Public Theatre in Port Townsend as part of its 56th mainstage season.

Penned by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Mamet, the funny and fast-paced play follows two actors—one a stage veteran and one a young, promising actor—as they work together in a rotating repertory theater company.

“This is an exhilarating showcase for two terrific actors,” says director Denise Winter. “It’s a deliciously revealing look at living your life on the stage.”

“A Life in the Theatre” features the KCPT debuts of retired Hollywood actor and Port Townsend resident John Considine and up-and-coming actor Erik Gratton of Seattle, in roles that mirror their real lives.
